This policy explains what personal information Sector 7 Networks collects through meetgwen.ca, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal language.
meetgwen.ca is operated by Sector 7 Networks, a managed IT services provider based in British Columbia, Canada. In this policy, "we" and "us" mean Sector 7 Networks, and "you" means anyone visiting this site or submitting the contact form.
When you fill in the contact form on this site, we collect the information you type into it: your name, your company, your email address, your phone number if you provide one, and whatever you write in the message field. Providing a phone number is optional; the other fields are required so that we can reply to you.
Our hosting provider records standard technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you viewed and the time of the request. This is generated by the web server itself and is used for security and to keep the site running.
This site does not set advertising cookies and does not use third-party analytics or tracking pixels. If that changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
We use the information you submit for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if you want to go further, to discuss and provide IT services to your business. In practice that means contacting you, preparing a proposal, and keeping a record of our conversation so you do not have to repeat yourself.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade or share it for anyone else's marketing.
By submitting the contact form, you are asking us to get in touch with you about IT services for your business, and you consent to us using your information for that purpose. You can withdraw that consent at any time by telling us to stop, and we will. Any commercial email we send will include an unsubscribe option, as required by Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation.
We use a small number of established service providers to run our business. Your information may be processed by them strictly so they can provide their service to us:
Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States. Where that happens, your information may be subject to the laws of that country. We only use providers that offer contractual protections for personal information.
We will otherwise only disclose your information where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect our rights or someone's safety.
Enquiries submitted through this site are handled with the assistance of automated systems that sort, prioritise and prepare draft responses. A person at Sector 7 Networks reviews correspondence before it is sent to you. No decision that produces a legal or similarly significant effect about you is made by automated means alone.
We use access controls, encryption in transit, and multi-factor authentication on the systems that hold client information, and we limit access to staff who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take this seriously — it is, after all, the business we are in.
If you enquire and do not become a client, we keep your enquiry for up to two years so that we have context if you come back to us, then delete it. If you become a client, we keep records for as long as we provide services to you and for seven years afterwards, which is the retention period that applies to our business records.
Under Canadian privacy law you can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct anything that is wrong, or delete information we no longer have a reason to keep. You can also withdraw your consent to being contacted. To make any of these requests, use the contact form on this site and say what you would like us to do. We will respond within thirty days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
This site is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority.
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
